Hotel Pacific Mussoorie

The Challenge
CCS Hospitality Marketing was already working with Hotel Pacific Dehradun so the owner was keen that we also work on Hotel Pacific Mussoorie which was to be launched in June 2016. The challenge for us was to create awareness of the hotel in the market. The location of the property was also a challenge since it was not on the Mall Road and it was not easily accessible due to the Mall Road entry timings and restrictions on taxi's entering Camel's Back Road.
The Approach
CCS Marketing Services undertook the exercise of listing the property on all OTA's along with the pricing strategy. As the hotel opened towards the end of the peak summer season, we used this opportunity to generate visibility for the hotel and prepare for the upcoming season. Being away from the Mall Road and not having any activities and facilities in the hotel, the pricing strategy that we adopted was to price the rooms in an affordable manner. Due to the location, the hotel offered a complimentary shuttle service to the Mall Road which was appreciated by many guests. We also ran a number of special offers and weekend as well as long weekend and festival packages which were well received. The New Year Eve program at the hotel was also well appreciated by guests.
The Result
The business in the first year was low since we had missed out on the summer season. From the second year onwards, business picked up very well, with online bookings making up from 5-15% of the total room business. Till Covid-19 hit, the hotel was one of the top selling properties on MakeMyTrip.
Covid-19 had badly impacted the hotel business but there was a good pick up in 2021 and 2022. Having been impacted financially by Covid-19, The owner decided to give the management of the property to Country Inn Hotels in 2023.
